OSLO/TRONDHEIM, NORWAY (8th August 2019): STAR Information Systems is proud to announce that Höegh Autoliners, an award-winning RoRo carrier, has signed up to implement STAR software. The database conversion of existing PMS databases for 24 ships is already completed after only 4 weeks.

Following an evaluation of optional suppliers in the market, Höegh Autoliners gained confidence along the way to sign the contract with STAR, thereby replacing their existing vessel maintenance system.

Geir Frode Abelsen, Head of Technical Management at Höegh Autoliners says:
“The team that we worked with during the procurement process gave us good confidence in the company’s ability to deliver a product that is fit for our purpose, and have a user-friendly graphic user interface and is well in line with our works flow both onboard and onshore. In the initial project phase, the company has demonstrated their ability to walk the talk and are delivering in accordance with a very ambitious implementation plan.”

The contract comprises delivery of asset management, maintenance, purchasing, and logistics software, with options for HSEQ and Dry-docking modules. In addition to the 24 ships with data converted from their old system, Höegh Autoliners will implement STAR software on an additional 14 ships.

To ensure a streamlined operation it is essential that the switch over time is as short as possible. Because of its data conversion capacity and methodology, STAR was trusted to convert a large amount of valuable data during the summer period and delivered as promised.

Höegh Autoliners represents the kind of customers the STAR software is designed for, with their large fleet of ships where the operational philosophy is centralized system management combined with the local onboard operation. Partnering with Höegh Autoliners adds great value to STAR Information Systems and consolidates its global position as a world-class provider of maritime software solutions and services.

Kjell Jørgensen, COO at STAR Information Systems says:
“We are very pleased to onboard Höegh Autoliners into our customer base. With our service and support concept, STAR Application Monitoring Services, Höegh Autoliners will be in good hands.”
