In the oil and gas industry, there’s currently much focus on how new technologies and utilization of smart business intelligence concepts can reduce costs. Industry leaders have realized that efficient use of digital technologies can reduce capital costs by up to 20 per cent and also cut general expenses in the oil production segment by 3-5 per cent and general expenses in refining and petrochemicals by around half of that.
AUTOMA 2018 is all about the importance of digitalization and automation in the oil & gas industry. Key players from upstream, midstream and downstream segments have come together to discuss real-life cases and to see presentations of the latest technologies and services. Automation in all parts of the value chain, predictive maintenance, artificial intelligence and machine learning, integrated digital platforms, information sharing, transparency and cyber security, smart contracts and operation optimization are some of the topics participants are immersing themselves in during the two-day congress.
